Glossary of Acronyms
Below is a glossary of all of the acronyms you may want to reference during conference and their explanations! EU Related Terms ECSC - European Coal and Steel Community, proposed by Robert Schumann in 1950 and adopted in 1952 including the founding members of the EU: Belgium, France, West Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. EEC - European Economic community, or “common market,” created by the Treaty of Rome in 1957. Renamed the EC by the TEU. TEU - The Treaty on European Union, or “Maastricht Treaty,” forms the EU in 1993. Euratom - European Atomic Energy Community EC - European Community, new name of the EEC EMU - European Monetary Union, outlined in the TEU, sets up the eurozone.
